Franchisor Spoon Me recently began offering new franchisees a six-month royalty holiday, which CEO Ryan Combe says is motivating new franchisees to sign faster. “This royalty permits a margin for error, giving the franchisee a grace period allowing further preparation,” Combe explains. “In addition, when a franchisee opens multiple stores, Spoon Me offers a discount from their initial franchise fee so the cost of startup is significantly decreased.” More

When Eric Dahlin moved to Ogden from California about a year ago, he saw a place with a lot of potential — and an unfilled niche.
“There’s nothing in this area serving a nutritious, healthy dessert,” said Dahlin, who along with three business partners is getting ready to open the Top of Utah’s first Spoon Me frozen yogurt shop in Harrisville this week.
“Healthy frozen yogurt has been big in California for years,” said Melanie Dahlin, co-owner of the Harrisville store and wife of Eric’s brother, Sam. “There’s a need for it here.”
